The Adventures of Galgameth is an unusual ‘rare’ movie in that it is readily available, ableit not on DVD. It never played in North American movie theaters, which is why, I guess, it has never been issued on a North American formatted DVD.  It is, however, readily and affordably available on VHS videotape.

The Adventures of Galgameth was a first movie project for movie director and producer  Sean McNamara and it appears to be a low budget film.  My 18-year old son actually watched it with me and enjoyed it, eventually calling it ‘cheesy,”  a reference to the quality of the effects.  We both were, however, rooting for Galgameth in the end so the movie did have an engaging story.

A fun family movie set in medieval times and filmed in Romania, it features a young prince and a heroic creature trying to save their kingdom. A magical adventure.

I ran out of time recently when I was rewatching My Fair Lady. It is a long movie! However, it is also a classic and may be one of the best movie musicals ever. It sure must be the ‘loverliest’ movie ever!

It captured a whopping eight Academy Awards, although Miss Hepburn did not receive one for Best Actress.  It was nominated for, I believe, a further four Oscars.

If I had any concern about what to write about in my Music and Movie Treasures By Brenda blog, it was misplaced for it turns out that writing posts is no problem…but getting steady, sustained traffic is.

I have had some excellent advice from lensmaster Spirituality and support from friends. However, my blog still struggles on.

It is starting to become harder to write good blog posts particularly when I know they will probably not receive any traffic and that I could be writing elsewhere (like on Squidoo and HubPages) and making sales.

I joined a 30-day blogging challenge (for the second time in March) and had a little bit of traffic from that effort but I managed to let a few days slip by without a post and did not manage to cross the finish line.  I learned a bit from the experience and gained a lot of Twitter followers although most of those followers are not really interested in what I write about but rather in working with other bloggers to promote each other’s  efforts.  (That’s a good thing.) 

I guess I need to ramp up my promotional efforts once again and see if I can find myself some steady traffic. To that end, I think I will:

• Join five more blog directories.
• Make it a point to visit five to ten related blogs every single day.
• Visit BlogFrog once a week or more. I did have some success from that forum at times.
• Research what else can be done promote a blog.

I am far from an expert when it comes to blogging, that much is for sure! I’m learning though and my good friend Susan52 was so kind as to say that once (I would add if) my blog is found, it should do well because it is packed full of good posts. Here’s hoping that it will be found one day.

If you are interested at all, you are probably wondering how the new Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland movie faired when judged by the critics.

I consider the critics to be from two camps. There are the official, professional sort of critics and then there are the critics like you and me. The ordinary, regular movie-going and watching public.

This critic (Brenda) enjoyed the new Alice in Wonderland movie but decided it was not the best-ever movie and would not make her list of favorite movies. Many of the critics gave this movie marks ranging from 2.5 to 3.5. The passing today of Miep Gies, the Dutch woman who helped hide and feed Anne Frank and her family and friends, reminded me of our visit to Anne Frank’s house this summer at the end of our European cruise. You know, our visit and the whole story would have been lost without the brave actions on the part of Ms. Gies while the Franks were in hiding and without her quick act of rescuing the abandoned diary on the floor of the loft.

Our Visit To Anne Frank’s House tells of our all-to-brief visit and hopefully will help others as they decide what to see and do when they visit Amsterdam.
