You might want to consider the Sony Playstation 3 for your blu-ray player. I was surprised to see that it is considered one of the best units, if not the best unit. Prices have come down on standalone units which has made the Playstation a little less attractive (before it was less expensive than a standalone unit, now it is more expensive.) However, there are two other factors to consider — the Playstation lets you play games. If you would use the console for playing games, it is still a great deal. Plus there is the fact that the Playstation is considered, surprisingly to me, to be a very good blu-ray player. If you have been putting off upgrading but (like my husband) wanting to, now may be the time.

You Never Know What I Might Have In Store For You!
Business is booming in the run up to the holidays.

In the spring, I found a supply of secret treasure chests (actually of little red boxes.) Those little red boxes contained a James Bond book set from Penguin Books issued as a part of Ian Fleming’s Centenary celebration. In those boxes were a group of fourteen of the Bond novels.

I sold a few right away before anyone else had the chance to list any on eBay. Then, as other sellers discovered my great ‘find’ and the market became saturated with this set the price was driven down and I backed off leaving one set in my store at a realistic price but not a giveaway price. I waited and I bid my time.

Well, spring and summer passed and fall rolled around and lo and behold there were very few of these sets left in North America. None on eBay, none on Amazon, none on Chapters. People wanted them for themselves or for their husbands or boyfriends and they were looking and unable to find any. The market, therefore, was ready again and I quickly sold every single set that I had…that is, 29 sets between October 3rd and today, November 28th.

Selling these sets is a great success because it means a) that they are no longer piled to the ceiling in my basement for which my husband and my family are thankful, b) that they were sold at a reasonable price and not a give away price and c) that my knowledge and instincts about a few things on eBay have grown.

I know this story will not be of interest to all here on Squidoo but I hope it will be to those who have an interest in eBay.

In a couple of days I will close my eBay store for the year…attend to a lot of details personal and business wise and prepare to enjoy the holiday season. I find myself wondering, “What will be next year’s hot seller?”

Business is definitely booming in the run up to the holidays.

This morning, when I was busily buzzing along on my assorted computer jobs I accidentally published my latest lens, Disney Blu-ray Movies ~~ Magic For You and Your Children which at that point consisted of an introduction and two movies written up and a whole lot of empty modules. Oh no! There was no quick fix available and no time to set the lens right either!

I decided to add a note at the top that informed any possible reader that this lens on Disney blu-ray movies was very much a work in progress and that it had been published early by mistake. (Embarrassing!)

Anyway, I was able to return to the lens and finish it tonight. It wasn’t in my plans this morning to finish a new lens but hey, I am never able to follow a schedule anyway so why should today be any different?

The plus side to the Panic at Squidoo? I have my third blu-ray lens ready early for the holiday shopping season. It joins Top 10 Blu-ray Movies or Discs and Christmas Blu-ray Movies ~~ Add One To Your Collection Now. Both of these lenses have been nicely visited by Google so far and hopefully the Disney children’s blu-ray movies one will meet with equal success.

Oh, and by the way, in case you were wondering…not a single solitary sole stumbled upon my premature lens so the panic was for naught! (Insert Brenda’s smiling face here!)

The e-mail I received was anonymous and contained a blend of part fact and part fiction. Rather than be alarmed, I set out to try and find the truth. For the results of my search and a lot more reading on the topic, visit Baby Carrots ~~ When Is A Carrot Not A Carrot.

I didn’t know this subject was so hot but I think that the quick rise of this lens to the top of the Squidoo rankings demonstrates that it is. (The first day’s rank was 7,093 and the second day is 2,145.) This was a result of early interest by the Squidoo community and the fact that I stumbled upon an interesting discussion on baby carrots and was able to share the wealth of my new found information there. It is also on a very specific topic, that a lot of people are talking and thinking about. An added bonus, Google found it today!

The comments that have been received so far are very interesting. I know there are a lot of people who are concerned about our diet and food supply but I would never have guessed we have so many vegetable gardeners on Squidoo! Makes me want to start vegetable gardening again!
